Bridging Digital Divide With Innovative Solution

Writer: Susan ObasiSusan Obasi

At Agape Academy International, we are determined to bring 21st-century learning to Kibera, Kenya, even in the face of limited resources and internet access. To make this vision a reality, we are exploring transformative, cost-effective tools such as the Raspberry Pi 400 and the RACHEL (Remote Area Community Hotspot for Education and Learning) Education program.

The Raspberry Pi 400 is not just a device; it’s a doorway to possibility. This all-in-one computer is affordable, compact, and powerful enough to support our students and educators in developing essential digital skills. Coupled with RACHEL, an offline education system offering a wealth of curated resources like Wikipedia, Khan Academy, and other educational content, it forms the perfect bridge to bring knowledge where the internet can’t.

By adopting these tools, we aim to create a learning environment that inspires innovation while addressing the unique challenges of our community. It’s a step forward in ensuring that our students have the same opportunities as their peers in more resourced areas, allowing them to dream beyond their circumstances.

We invite you to join us in this exciting endeavor. Your support can help us secure more devices, provide training, and expand this program to benefit more students. Together, let’s light up Kibera with knowledge and opportunity!
